Network security co PineApp gets UK distribution contract.
Mar. 26--Network and e-mail security start-up PineApp Ltd. has
won its first contract in the UK, signing a $1 million distribution
agreement with C-MI Labs plc. C-MI chose the PineApp Mail-SeCure
appliance to address the increasing threats of spam and email
born viruses.
PineApp UK sales and marketing director Steve Cornish said, "In
the past five years PineApp has pioneered the development of innovative
engines to fight email and content security threats and has established
a presence in over 50 countries. PineApp is now focused on the
UK market and C-MI Labs will play a roll in accelerating sales
of Mail-SeCure solutions and positioning PineApp as a player in
the anti-spam and anti-virus market."
This is PineApp's first contract in the UK since opening a regional
office there last month. The company recently signed three contracts
in Europe: with the Romanian branch of Assicurazioni Generali
(Milan: GASI), the Slovenian electricity board, and a Russian
bank.
PineApp was founded in 2000, and develops anti-spam and anti-virus
solutions for enterprise e-mail systems and networks. The company's
solutions also provide policy management tools, anti-forgery tools,
content filters and the blocking of undesirable websites. The
company raised capital from Decima Ventures in 2004, and its managing
partner, Rony Zarom, is chairman of the company.
